Walk the City

Muranow - The neighborhood was rebuilt after the war in Socialist-realist style. The buildings are finished with classical details and the public space around them is well proportioned. The streets and courtyards have a human scale, cars are secondary. This is a great walk for the summer as it is shady and very green. Also the gardens in the courtyards should be in full bloom while the few local restaurants will have their terraces open.

Plac Konstytucji + Mokotowska - This is a very urban walk with no parks or green spaces just several paved plazas. It takes you from one of Warsaw's oldest schools of higher learning, through a grand socialist square, past cute boutiques and finishes with a palm tree. It's long but definitely worth it.

Saski Gardens and surroundings - This walk will take you through the heart of Warsaw. It's an excellent cross-section, passing through modern construction, a few housing blocks from the 60's, post-war historic reconstructions and even some original 19th century architecture and an 18th century park.
