You won't find much on the facade of Jerozolimskie 51 to indicate that the Fotoplastikon is inside. Just this pair of google-eyes that's in the photo above. The building itself is lovely, belonging to the Hoser family, a tenement that survived the war. The courtyard echoes with former grandeur: interesting brick work and enormous glass windows with stained glass detailing. You have to go towards the very back of the building to find the entrance. The Fotoplastikon is in its original location (the only one in the world preserved in situ). It's collection of over 3000 photos spans the 19th and 20th century and the entire world. There are many photos of pre-war Warsaw. It is the perfect place to see them to better understand the many transformations of the city.
