As a gift of the Soviet nation to the Poles it still evokes very mixed emotions even though it has become a landmark for the city. It's facade is a mix of art decio, socialist realism and polish historicism, an Eastern European version of American skyscrapers like the Empire State Building.
Currently it houses theatres, cocert halls, cinemas, cafes, restaurants, clubs, offices and museums. There is a viewing deck on the 30th floor and the very old school Technology Museum (recommended) at the ground level.
