Rotunda

Offices

@. Marszalkoska 100/102
architect. Jerzy Jakubowicz
finsihed. 1966

Part of the East Wall built 1960-69. The 'wall' consisted of 23 buldings totalling 680,000m3 and included four department stores, three cutting edge (for the time) apartment towers a pedestrian passage (know known as Pasaz Wiecha) and the PKO BP Rotunda. Rebuilt 1979 after tragic glass explosion. Its unique shape and central location have made it a popular meeting place even though it only serves as offices for a bank. It is a light, airy modernist building that is asking for a renovation.
